\"Hilti<\/a>Failure to adequately clean your holes can significantly reduce the performance of conventional adhesive anchor systems. This is why Engineers at Hilti have created new Safe Set\u2122 Technology which eliminates manual hole-cleaning during anchor installations.<\/p>\n

For holes that clean themselves, we recommend the new Hilti TE-CD and TE-YD Hollow Drill Bits<\/a> in conjunction with the Hilti VC 20\/40 vacuum to create a virtually dustless working environment. Contractors using this new system in conjunction with Hilti HIT-HY 200 adhesive<\/a> enjoy higher productivity, fewer cleaning errors, and more precise installations.<\/p>\n

The new Hilti HIT-Z cleaning rod features a cone shaped helix that works as a torque-controlled anchor. Thanks to their shape, HIT-Z Anchor Rods<\/a>, can be installed in a standard (hammer drilled, dry or water saturated concrete, above 41\u00b0F\/5\u00b0C) uncleaned hole. Again, HIT-Z Anchor rods are designed for use with Hilti HIT-HY 200 adhesive.<\/p>\n

The most common anchor installation method uses compressed air and a wire brush (also known as traditional brush and blow) to clean drill holes. Like all Hilti adhesive anchors, HIT-HY 200 can be easily utilized using this method because the adhesive only requires two blows of compressed air, two brushes and two more blows of compressed air (2x2x2).\u00a0 Applying HIT-HY 200 with brush and blow is more efficient than using competitive adhesives which typically require at least a 4x4x4.<\/p>\n

Hilti HIT-HY 200 is available in two versions with the same load ratings:\u00a0 HIT-HY 200-R<\/a> for \u201cregular\u201d working times and HIT-HY 200-A<\/a> for applications requiring \u201caccelerated\u201d working times.\u00a0 The Hilti HIT-HY 200 Adhesive Anchor System installed with the Hollow drill bit method, HIT-Z or standard hole cleaning method is approved by ICC-ES in the ESR 3187 for use in all seismic zones and uncracked and cracked concrete.<\/p>\n

Please note:\u00a0 Hilti HIT-HY 200 Adhesive replaces both HIT-HY 150 MAX and HIT-HY 150 MAX-SD Adhesive as these products will be discontinued.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
